Dear Parent,

Welcome to the GymSensei program!  This program was designed specifically for kids ages 4 to 12 years old in order to help build better self-discipline, self-confidence, focus, listening, and respect from your home while getting fit!

In today’s busy culture every minute spent educating our children makes a difference.  This program was designed not to be the fastest and easiest way to gain fitness, but what I feel  is one of the most effective ways to get fit as well as learn about discipline, focus, listening, all while developing self-confidence.  These are the true benefits of the principles of martial arts training.

If you are ready to jump right into the program I applaud your courage to try something new!  While many parents think at first look that GymSensei is a martial arts program let me say that it is not a ‘karate school.’  I have taken the basic principles from the martial arts and developed this program.  The unique aspect of  this program is the interaction between the parent and child.  In essence, you become the ‘Sensei’  (“skilled teacher”) and your child becomes the student.  As in all teaching relationships, the teacher learns just as much about herself as the pupil.

GymSensei provides a fun, simple method for parents and kids to improve their physical fitness with many additional benefits that will help your child every day. These benefits include:

Similar to the martial arts, the GymSensei program uses a system of rank to help children set and attain short term goals.  The introductory program (aka. “White Band” program) includes a home practice DVD, uniform, and white headband (similar to a belt in the martial arts).  Each DVD has a unique theme such as focus, self-discipline, coordination, strength, etc.  Each DVD is also paired with a homework that you receive once you have purchased the program.  Once you and your child have completed the DVD and homework (which usually takes about 4 to 6 weeks) you may order the next level and also receive your child’s new colored headband.
